Back to school is an exciting time for kids, and getting new supplies to start off the year is always fun! Sadly, not all families in our county can afford these items. Every year FRIENDS provides over 300 new backpacks loaded with grade appropriate school supplies for children K-12. Volunteers buy and sort supplies and stuff back packs every August. The back-packs are distributed to school social workers to present to their students before the first day of school. FRIENDS will gladly accept specific items for back packs, (i.e., thumb drives, colored pencils, composition books) or, monetary donations for this project.
